Frequently asked questions.
Do you keep a waitlist?
We don’t keep waitlist’s or ask for deposits on puppies! If you are interested in potentially adding one of our babies to your family then please fill out our online application form located on our puppies page. Filling out the application is not a commitment but helps us keep track of puppy enquiries.
How much are puppies?
Our puppies are currently priced at $4,000. We do not believe in charging more or less for certain colours or genders as all our puppies are worth the same price.
Where do you keep your breeding dogs?
All of our dogs live, eat and sleep with us. We don’t have dog kennels, and they are treated as part of our family. Our girls whelp their puppies inside, either in our lounge room or our spare bedroom so we can keep an eye on them at night. Do we like having sore backs from being squashed into the corner of the bed? Not really, ha! But they love sharing our space and we couldn’t live without them in the house.
Our doggy door does remain open in the cooler months (When there are no threats of snakes!) and we will often find Fergus outside at night, sleeping on the grass at the property boundary as he loves to patrol at night.
My vet tells me i shouldn’t desex before 6 months, can our puppy come intact?
Our puppies undergo either a Tubal Ligation (females) or Vasectomy (males) before they go to new homes. We prefer this to a standard desex (spay/neuter) so our puppies retain those vital hormones for growing, without the risk of becoming pregnant when they are old enough. It is then up to you and your vet if you wish to desex your puppy fully.
Please note: Sterilisation stops girls from becoming pregnant but does not stop their heat cycle or male dogs from unwanted behaviours ie. marking, humping, seeking out females in heat etc.
Can we come visit?
Unless you have committed to a puppy we do not currently have visitors, this is from a biosecurity standpoint and also because this is our family home. We do however absolutely welcome facetime calls and are happy to send video and photos.
If you have organised to come and meet us in person, be prepared. Our dogs are always VERY keen to greet new people. There will be many licks, and your hands must be free to rub their bums!
What does my puppy come with?
All of our puppies come with a puppy pack. This includes sire and dam details, health testing, puppy health testing and also general Australian Shepherd health information and tips. We include some of the food they are currently on as well as some toys and treats to help get you started.
Can i see the sire and dam of my puppy in person?
We will always welcome puppy owners to visit and see the dam in person. Sometimes however we will use sires from different breeders across Australia, so they won’t be available to see at home.
